This is a great little hike on the back side of Tiger Mountain, off the Issaquah/Hobart Road. As this trail was made for paragliders to get to their jumpsite, it is very well maintained and easy to hike on. As a matter of fact, on this particular hiking day someone was out working on the trail perfecting it.
With that said, the reason I have given this hike a Moderate rating instead of easy is because of the steepness. It is an easy trail and there are always a lot of kids at the top, but don't be fooled, it is very steep. If you are new to hiking it may be a little difficult for you. By the time we got to the top we were drenched in sweat and were breathing like we had just run four miles. We did have a pretty good pace going though, so if you take it slow you will be fine.
but, very steep!
Once you reach the top, you will be at the North jumpsite. This is usually where people are jumping from (at least when we are up there, we have yet to see jumpers going from the South site). But, the south site is where the view of Issaquah is, and well worth the little extra hiking.
Go to the left of the North site and you will see the trail leading to the South. It's only an extra couple of minutes, and the view is amazing.

If you are still feeling like you want more of a hike, head down to the parking lot seen from the South site. Down there there is a bathroom to use and the trailhead to continue on. It is a fairly flat, beautiful trail through the forest. A nice, relaxing place to hike after huffing up the mountain side.
The North side is usually where all the paragliding action is taking place. A very popular place for hikers to rest and watch the jumpers taking off. It is an amazing thing to watch.
This particular day we were up here there was a huge group of people doing tandem jumping. It looks very difficult for the jumper to have this extra person strapped onto them and gives them an extra element to deal with as they are getting ready to take off. This particular gal was so funny, because when the guy was able to catch the wind in his shoot it lifted her right off the ground. He kept yelling at her to "run, run, run" and bless her heart, she tried......
I don't know who this gal was, but thanks for the laugh!
